My top five favorite places to buy tack! (as a broke teen)

Shopping for your horse can get expensive quick, and if your a young teen, it can be very difficult to budget for all the need your horses may have. So today, ill be sharing my top 5 favorite places to shop for horse items, on a budget!

The #1 thing that a lot of people are oblivious to as equestrians, is that when shopping, the secret is to shop mainly in non horse-centered areas. For example, i can buy my horse a shedding blade at Tractor Supply for $10, when I could get the same one in the dog section at dollar tree! Equestrian stores understand the value of our animals and know that they can easily up the price because we need that item and were willing to pay top dollar, even when its not 100% necessary to do so.

That leads us to my 5th favorite place to shop, Dollar Tree/Dollar General/Family Dollar. Although these places may not supply much needed items such as grain, tack, & supplements, they do supply things like tack organizing containers, fly spray bottles, hairbands for braiding, and quite a few grooming supplies such as hair brushes, dog & cat shedding tools etc. I would highly recommend making as many of your purchases here as possible as it can quickly & easily save you money.

#4 would have to be the iconic Tractorsupply.com as I'm personally a huge fan (who isn't?!)! Tractor Supply is a great way to quickly get any needed items, though the prices add up quickly! But this is, so far, the cheapest location I've found that supplies my horses grain.

Down to the top 3, my next favorite place to shop, you guessed it, Amazon.com! Amazon has everything needed from grooming to grain to natural and organic supplements at a very reasonable price! They have an endless variety to choose from & fast shipping options if needed.

As a fan of buying things used, #2 is certainly poshmark.com / ebay.com / craigslist.com. I love being able to not only buy gently used items, but sell my unused ones as well! These three options are great for finding exactly what you need at a price you can afford!

Last but not least, my absolute favorite place to shower my mare with gifts, etsy.com y'all! Etsy is simple & easy to find things, affordable, quick shipping, & personally, I would much rather my money go to someone who hand made their items rather than a company. Etsy is an amazing place to find quality tack with hundreds of accurate ratings not to mention they have the cutest designs and custom name items as well!
